دیالوگ‌های کوتاه سری سوم – مسافرت هوایی و ریلی – افعال پرکاربرد

در مقاله دیالوگ‌های کوتاه سری سوم به بررسی اصطلاحات رایج در حین دو نوع مسافرت (ریلی و هوایی) می‌پردازیم. سپس مشکلات احتمالی پیش آمده در زمان مسافرت و نحوه درخواست کمک از دیگران را آموزش‌خواهیم‌داد. در ادامه به بررسی سوالات متداول در مورد مسافرت در آزمون‌های آیلتس می‌پردازیم. در انتها نیز افعال پرکاربرد مقاله گذشته را بررسی‌خواهیم‌نمود.

Woman: Ah, well, just press this button. [Oh, yeah] And from here, it’s a dollar fifty

Man: Okay

Woman: Then, get on the train at platform number 4

?Man: Alright. Oh, and how often do the trains come around this time of day

Woman: Usually, they come about every six minutes

Woman: Get off at State Street Station, three stops from here

• I can’t make heads or tails of =اصطلاح رایج معادل با “من متوجه نمی شم/سر در نمیارم”
• get on= سوار شدن     get off= پیاده شدن
• معادل هر …… یکبار از عبارت every…. استفاده می شود

Caller: Yes, I’d like to make a flight reservation for the twenty-third of this month

?Travel Agent: Okay. What is your destination

Caller: Well. I’m flying to Helsinki, Finland

?Travel Agent: Okay. Let me check what flights are available?. [Okay] And when will you be returning

Caller: Uh, well, I’d like to catch a return flight on the twenty-ninth. Oh, and I’d like the cheapest flight available

…Travel Agent: Okay. Let me see. Um, hmm

?Caller: Yeah

Travel Agent: Well, the price for the flight is almost double the price you would pay if you leave the day before

?Caller: Whoo. Let’s go with the cheaper flight. By the way, how much is it

Travel Agent: It’s only $980

Caller: Alright. Well, let’s go with that

Travel Agent: Okay. That’s flight 1070 from Salt Lake City to New York, Kennedy Airport, transferring to flight 90 from Kennedy to Helsinki

Caller: And what are the departure and arrival times for each of those flights

Travel Agent: It leaves Salt Lake City at 10:00 AM, arriving in New York at 4:35 PM, then transferring to flight 90 at 5:55 PM, and arriving in Helsinki at 8:30 AM the next day

Caller: Alright. And, uh, I’d like to request a vegetarian meal

نکات مهم

• در زبان انگلیسی برخی اسم ها تنها با افعال خاص همراه می‌شوند و به اصطلاح collocate می‌شوند.‌(دلیل استفاده از افعال پرکاربرد نیز همین موضوع است) برای مثال در این دیالوگ ما عبارت “make a reservation” را استفاده کردیم.
• معادل آمریکایی برای واژه “return ticket” به‌ معنای بلیط رفت و برگشت، واژه “round-trip ticket” است.

I usually pack my suitcase with some necessary items such as clothes, medicine, food, a map, and a camera

I prefer planes although it can be a little expensive. Planes are much faster than any other mode of transport

I love backpacking with my friends who share the same interests as me

در نظر داشته باشید، در آزمون‌هایی همچون آیلتس توانایی فرد در مکالمه روان بدون مکث و ساخت جملات درست از اهمیت فراوانی برخوردار است. لذا پاسخ هر یک از سوالات مطرح شده باید حداقل یک خط باشد. اما در ابتدا هدف این مقاله، آموزش پاسخ‌های صحیح و بی‌غلط  بوده و در آینده روان‌تر شدن مکالمه و ایجاد جملات بلندتر و پیچیده‌تر مد نظر قرار می‌گیرند.

 (بهانه ساختن) William made an excuse to the teacher about why he was late, but she didn’t believe him

 (برنامه ریختن) Alison can’t come tonight. She’d already made plans

 (اطمینان حاصل کردن) ?Could you please make sure that the money has gone into the correct bank account

(ظرف شستن) It takes Lizzie an hour a day to do the washing up. She would love to have a dishwasher

(تصمیم گرفتن). I offered the job to Ian, and I said he had until Monday to make his mind up

(تخت خواب را مرتب کردن) In the morning she gets up, has a shower and gets dressed, then makes the bed. After that she goes downstairs and has breakfast
